1. Preface
Entomologically, ants are among the creatures with the most complex social systems in the world. There are more than 9,000 ant species with an extraordinarily precise division of labor. From the “education sector” that raises larvae, to the “sanitation corps” that maintains nest hygiene, to the “agricultural sector” that cultivates fungi. They communicate through highly detailed chemical language (pheromones) and vibrations. Ants teach us that the success of a nation is not determined by the size of its physical body, but by the strength of cooperation and obedience to the system established by the Creator.
2. Explanation
Ant society is like “A Single Body.” They work without needing a foreman to watch them, because every individual possesses a deep sense of responsibility. When danger comes, an ant does not flee to save itself; instead, it warns its entire colony.Ants are a community with an orderly way of life, as affirmed in the Qur’an:
A. Qur’anic Evidence (On the Communication of the Ant Nation)
“Until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, an ant said, ‘O ants, enter your dwellings so that you will not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they are unaware.’” (QS. An-Naml: 18)
B. Qur’anic Evidence (On Animals as Communities)
“And there is no creature on earth or bird that flies with its wings except that they are communities like you.” (QS. Al-An'am: 38)
3. Lessons and Message
From this small community, we can draw profoundly lofty moral lessons:Anti-Egoism: Ants teach social responsibility. If even an ant feels the need to protect its nation, a rational human should be ashamed if they only care about themselves or, worse, tear one another down.Empathy and Loyalty: The loyalty of ants is seen when they do not abandon an injured comrade. They have a strong sense of belonging to their community—a rebuke to us who sometimes sever ties of kinship over trivial matters.Orderly Management: Although they hold no university degrees, ants have well-managed food reserves and “livestock” systems. Let us not, with our large bodies, be outdone in diligence and discipline in managing life.Work Without a Foreman: The discipline of ants comes from within. If humans had the same sense of ownership toward their environment as ants do, there would be no chaos on this earth.
4. Conclusion
My brothers and sisters beloved by Allah, ants are signs of Allah walking upon the earth. Their existence proves that Allah SWT never overlooks even the smallest of His creation.Let us take lessons in hard work, synergy, and care from the nation of ants. May we become individuals and a nation that are solid through our obedience to the Creator. Small in body does not mean small in courage; orderly management is the key to their glory
