1. Opening

Friends whose hearts are always shaded by Allah’s guidance, in the business world we know the term multi-level marketing or network-based investment that can generate abundant passive income. But do you know that Islam has a concept of “Spiritual Passive Income” that is far more powerful and unlimited? We call it the Domino Effect of Guidance. From a spiritual-scientific view, human souls are interconnected. When you spend time, energy, or patience to guide, advise, or save just one human soul from the path of misguidance to the straight path, Allah considers your action equal to saving all of humanity. Why? Because the one person you save will later bring good influence to his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his neighbors, even his coworkers. All the rewards from that chain of goodness will automatically flow into your book of deeds as the first guide, without diminishing their reward in the least, even until the Day of Judgment arrives though you have long passed away.

Let us soothe our souls by reflecting on Allah SWT’s words in the Qur’an:

وَمَنْ أَحْيَاهَا فَكَأَنَّمَا أَحْيَا النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا

“And whoever saves one life—it is as if he had saved all of mankind.” [QS. Al-Ma’idah: 32]

This fantastically rewarding Hereafter investment is affirmed by Rasulullah ﷺ in his profoundly authoritative saying:

فَوَاللَّهِ لأَنْ يَهْدِيَ اللَّهُ بِكَ رَجُلاً وَاحِدًا خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنْ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَكَ حُمْرُ النَّعَمِ

“By Allah, if Allah guides a single person through you, it is better for you than red camels [the most luxurious asset in the world].” [HR. Bukhari and Muslim]

2. Lessons and Message

The precious message for all of us: Never underestimate small-scale dawah. Do not be discouraged if our content or call to goodness is only heard by one person, or by our own child at home. In the sight of Allah, saving one soul is a massive project. Focus on the quality of guidance and sincerity, not on the applause of millions of viewers who may not act upon it.

Let us recall a real, heart-touching story from the modern world of dawah. There was a scholar who spent years preaching in a quiet, cold rural area. At one point, for months of teaching, only one poor young man consistently came to sit and listen to his lessons. The scholar felt sad, wept at night, and thought his dawah had totally failed because he couldn’t move the wider community. He felt his effort was in vain. Yet he remained steadfast and guided that one young man with full love and sincerity. Years later, the scholar passed away in obscurity. And do you know what happened next? That one poor young man he mentored grew into a great scholar who managed to bring tens of thousands of people to Islam and build hundreds of madrasahs. The teacher had returned to dust in his grave, but the “Domino Effect” of his sincerity in educating one person caused millions of rewards to flow continuously, knocking on his grave’s door every day. The teacher thought he had failed, when in the heavens he reigned as a champion of Hereafter investment. So we can understand this domino law with a relaxed smile, let’s imagine a Domino Card Game lined up for a full kilometer. To topple all those cards stretching 1 kilometer, do you need the pushing power of a bulldozer or a tractor engine? Or do you need to go around 1 kilometer to knock down each card one by one? No need, right? It would be exhausting to knock them down one by one by hand. You only need one small, relaxed flick of your finger on the very first card. Click! With just one small flick on one card, the first card hits the second, the second hits the third, and in a few minutes, all the cards along the entire kilometer fall neatly on their own without you touching them again. Well, advising or guiding one person to the right path is like flicking that first domino card.

The funny thing about us on social media nowadays is that we want to immediately be a “bulldozer” that knocks down millions of people through a viral video, when we forget that our sincere flick on one closest person—like a spouse, child, or a friend—can create a collision effect of goodness that will never stop until the Day of Judgment!

3. Conclusion and Closing

Friends, in conclusion, let us change our perspective on doing good and doing dawah on social media. Stop obsessing over follower counts or view numbers that deceive the soul. Remember the promise of Rasulullah: just one person who receives guidance through your tongue or your typing fingers is worth far more than red camels or anything the sun shines upon in this world.Be a means of guidance for others. Start with those closest to you. Guide them with knowledge, patience, and compassion. Because when our bodies have gone cold in the grave and our social media accounts have been forgotten, the domino effect of goodness we started today will still be alive, moving, and continuing to send reward transfers into our grave
