1. Opening
Noble-hearted social media friends, do you know one of the greatest beauties in Islam? Islam is an extremely egalitarian religion. Islam knows no system of priesthood, no sacred caste, and no spiritual prerogative owned only by a certain class. Before Allah, there is no “blue blood” when it comes to faith.
Scientifically and theologically, the essence of this religion is the absolute closeness between servant and Creator without any caste intermediary. Whoever you are—whether you are an official, a wealthy entrepreneur, an online motorcycle-taxi driver, or a janitor—you have the exact same opportunity and right to attain the highest rank in the sight of Allah: to become a Waliyullah [Friend of Allah]. The condition is not rank or lineage, but the faith and taqwa planted in the heart.
Allah SWT affirms this soul-soothing egalitarian system in the Qur’an:
إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ أَتْقَاكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ
“Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.” [QS. Al-Hujurāt: 13]
Rasulullah ﷺ also emphasized that physical appearance and social status have no value before Allah compared to the heart and deeds:
إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَنْظُرُ إِلَى صُوَرِكُمْ وَأَمْوَالِكُمْ، وَلَكِنْ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَأَعْمَالِكُمْ
“Indeed, Allah does not look at your faces and your wealth, but He looks at your hearts and your deeds.” [HR. Muslim]
2. Lessons and Message
The priceless moral message from this principle is: Never feel inferior before people because of poverty, and never feel arrogant before people because of high position. In this world, we are divided by social class. But in the heavens, the only thing that makes our name mentioned by the angels is the sincerity of our hearts toward Allah.
Let us recall a touching story from the time of Rasulullah ﷺ about a companion named Julaibib. He was a man who, pardon the expression, was not handsome, poor, had no noble lineage, and lived aimlessly on the outskirts of Madinah. In society’s eyes, Julaibib was “nobody.” Yet when Julaibib fell in battle, Rasulullah ﷺ searched for him specifically. When his body was found, Rasulullah cradled Julaibib’s dust-and-blood-covered head, then wept profusely while saying, “He is part of me, and I am part of him.” The people of earth saw Julaibib as a pitiful outcast, but Rasulullah—the highest beloved—declared that Julaibib was part of him. That is the portrait of a true Waliyullah hidden from human sight. So we can grasp this with a smile, let’s imagine an online movie ticket app or a ride-hailing app. If you want to book a VIP ticket through that app, does the app ask: “Sorry, whose child are you? Are you handsome or not? Do you have a professor’s title or not?” No, right? The app doesn’t care if your face looks like a Korean actor or a kitchen cutting board. It cares about one thing only: Do you have enough balance to buy that ticket? If the balance is enough, click, and you immediately get the VIP seat! Well, the path to becoming a Waliyullah is exactly like this egalitarian digital system. Allah doesn’t need our business card, doesn’t need our filtered profile picture. What Allah looks at is the “balance” of faith and taqwa in the heart. So the funny thing is, many people in this world scramble for “insider connections” and officials’ networks for worldly success, when to become the Beloved of the Ruler of the Universe, the path is wide open for anyone without needing insider capital!
3. Conclusion and Closing
Friends, in conclusion, Islam shatters all walls of spiritual caste. Being a Waliyullah is not a profession that requires a certificate or special clothing. Waliyullah is a title of love from Allah for every servant who whispers in the silence of night, who is honest in his trade, who is sincere in his work, and who guards his heart from disobedience. So, starting today, do not limit yourself. Do not think that piety and closeness to Allah belong only to people in Islamic boarding schools or those in large robes. You, wherever you are and whatever your profession is today, have the right and the ability to become a beloved of Allah. Purify your heart, set your intention straight, and knock on the door of His mercy
