1. Preface
Did you know that our body is a sophisticated laboratory designed to respond to nature? One of its wonders is the synthesis of Vitamin D. Unlike other vitamins that must be ingested, Vitamin D is produced by our own skin with the help of sunlight. This substance is not merely a bone strengthener; it is key to insulin secretion in the pancreas, bone marrow cell growth, and skin health. Scientifically, the solar radiation most effective and safe for triggering this metabolism occurs in the light spectrum at sunrise and sunset. This is when the universe “whispers” to our cells to begin working to maintain our immunity and physical strength
.2. Explanation
Qur’anic Evidence and Hadith
The link between time and health is implied in the words of Allah SWT:
أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِدُلُوكِ الشَّمْسِ إِلَىٰ غَسَقِ اللَّيْلِ وَقُرْآنَ الْفَجْرِ إِنَّ قُرْآنَ الْفَجْرِ كَانَ مَشْهُودًا
“Establish prayer from the decline of the sun until the darkness of the night, and the Qur’an of dawn. Indeed, the recitation of dawn is ever witnessed.” (QS. Al-Isra’: 78)
The Messenger of Allah SAW also emphasized the importance of movement for strong health:
الْمُؤْمِنُ الْقَوِيُّ خَيْرٌ وَأَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِ الضَّعِيفِ
“The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer...” (HR. Muslim)
3. Lessons and Message
Every command of Allah is a prescription for the health of His servants. The command to pray is not merely a burdensome obligation, but the most holistic form of “Self-Care.” Faith teaches us that physical health cannot be separated from mental tranquility. Through tawheed, we free the soul from stress and psychological pressure that can weaken the immune system. Obeying Allah means giving the body its right to be healthy. There is a true story about a patient suffering from severe depression and poor blood circulation. After he began routinely performing the Fajr prayer in congregation at the mosque—which required him to walk, breathe the morning air, and be exposed to the dawn light—he felt a drastic change. Not only did his blood pressure stabilize because of the vascular flexibility gained from the movements of prostration, but his soul found the “light” it had long lost. He wept when he realized that Allah had already prepared a remedy in every prayer time, yet he himself had been avoiding the practice of the Supreme Creator. The movements of prayer are like “Vascular Exercise.” Imagine a stiff water hose; if water pressure suddenly increases, the hose will burst. But by routinely bowing and prostrating, the blood vessels in our head are trained to become elastic and flexible. Prayer is weight training for the blood vessels to protect us from the risk of stroke when blood pressure rises. We often willingly pay a high price for Vitamin D supplements or expensive gym memberships. Yet Allah has already provided a “Free Gym” five times a day with a bonus of Vitamin D straight from the sun. Ironically, many of us diligently chase vitamin discounts at the store, but frequently skip out when the morning sun is distributing its free vitamins through the call of the Adhan. We fear vitamin deficiency more than we fear a deficiency of prostration!
4. Conclusion
In conclusion, Faith Is Health. The integration of religion and science shows that not a single movement or time of worship is in vain. The Fajr prayer is light therapy, bowing and prostration are vascular therapy, and dhikr is immune therapy.Let us make worship our healthy lifestyle. For who is more expert about our health than the One who knit every cell in our bodies
