1. Preface

In modern neurocardiology, it has been found that the heart has its own nervous system, called the “little brain in the heart.” Technically, if the human body is likened to a computer, then the Brain is the Memory (RAM) that is temporary and electrical, while the Heart is the Hard Drive where data is stored mechanically and permanently. The brain processes logic, but it is the heart that stores the essence of values, beliefs, and love. The body is merely the “casing” or physical shell, while the Ruh is the Electric Current that powers the entire system. Without this divine current, no matter how sophisticated the device, it has no meaning.

2. Explanation

You are a Soul, not just flesh and bone. The soul is an eternal essence that will not perish; it only “tastes” death when it separates from the body. Because you are the manager of this “device,” you bear full responsibility for three main circles of control: Yourself, Your Household, and Your Work. Focus on repairing the heart as the center where the essence of the self is stored—before the switch of this life is suddenly turned off.Let us reflect on the shar’i foundation regarding the status of the heart and soul:A. Qur’anic Evidence (On the Heart that Understands and the Immortality of the Soul)

“Have they not traveled through the land, so that they may have hearts by which to understand, or ears by which to hear?” (QS. Al-Hajj: 46)

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَاۤىِٕقَةُ الْمَوْتِۗ

“Every soul will taste death.” (QS. Ali 'Imran: 185)

B. The Saying of the Messenger ﷺ (On What Determines the Goodness of the Body)

“Verily, in the body there is a piece of flesh: if it is sound, the whole body is sound; and if it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt. Verily, it is the heart.” (HR. Bukhari & Muslim)

3. Lessons and Message

Here are several important wisdoms we can embed in our daily lives:The Existence of the Ruh: When a person dies, the weight of the body does not decrease, yet it can no longer move. This proves that what matters most is the “Electric Current” (Ruh), not merely the “Casing” (Body). Do not be too busy decorating the casing while forgetting to fill the hard drive of the soul with righteous deeds.Responsibility of Leadership: Do not busy yourself with the sins of others while the hard drive of your heart is full of “junk files” like arrogance, and your family loses its Islamic identity under your watch. The Light Bulb Analogy: Human life is like a light bulb. The body is the glass that can break at any time, but our worth is determined by how bright the light (goodness) we produce while the current still flows.Integrity in Roles: If you are an honest merchant, then your work is your da’wah. Allah will not only ask about your organizational position, but about the condition of the “casing” at your home (family) that is under your control

.4. Conclusion

Humans are eternal souls, and the body is only a temporary vehicle for gathering provisions. Let us cleanse the hard drive of our hearts from bad files and fill it with obedience and benefit.Lead your household with measured compassion and work with honesty. May, when the “electric supply” is cut off one day, we face Him with a tranquil soul and a hard drive full of records of goodness. Amin.
