Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Bismillahir- Rahmanir-Rahim

1. Preface

Did you know that while our bodies lie motionless in deep sleep, our brains are actually hosting a massive “cleansing party”? Scientifically, during sleep, brain cells shrink to allow cerebrospinal fluid to flush out metabolic toxins that have accumulated throughout the day. The brain never sleeps; it is busy tidying the drawers of memory and processing information. This is an extraordinary form of God’s mercy—when our body rests, the engine of our consciousness is being renewed so that tomorrow we return fit for worship and productivity.

2. Explanation

Time management is not merely about productivity, but about accountability before the Creator. Prophet Muhammad SAW reminded us:“The feet of a servant will not move on the Day of Judgment until he is asked about four things: about his life, how he spent it...” (HR. Tirmidhi no. 2417)

And in a gentle yet firm warning, he said:“There are two blessings which many people waste: health and free time.” (HR. Bukhari no. 6412)

3. Lessons and Message

The smartest investment of time is to activate the heart when the body is powerless. We often fall behind other nations because they value punctuality and quality of work as a standard of living, when in fact that is the very core of Islamic teaching. If we cannot fill our waking hours optimally because of anxiety, then start by fixing our sleeping hours. Make every second of your heartbeat an uninterrupted dhikr through the medium of heavenly sounds.Have you ever noticed a mother sleeping soundly from exhaustion? Even though all her senses seem dead—she does not smell smoke, she does not feel a mosquito landing—yet the moment her baby whimpers, she wakes instantly. Allah SWT leaves the sense of hearing awake during sleep as a “gatekeeper” of safety. How Most Gentle Allah is; He does not let us become completely cut off from the world so we can still respond to the signs of His mercy.Imagine our brain is like a smartphone being charged. If we charge it while playing loud music or useless content, the battery may fill, but the device overheats and wears out quickly. But if we charge it while downloading sacred and calming data, then when we wake up, our “device” is not only full of energy, but its system has been updated with peace and optimism.Sometimes we feel too busy to recite the Qur’an. But strangely, we have two hours to scroll videos of people eating or confused cats. We say time is gold, yet we treat it like crumbs of crackers tossed away. We sleep hoping for sweet dreams, but what we play before bed is a horror film or news of conflict. Don’t be surprised if you wake up not refreshed, but feeling like picking a fight with your pillow!

4. Conclusion

Let us change our time-management technique starting tonight. Place your phone two meters away (to avoid radiation), then play a soft, looping murattal of the Qur’an. Let verses about Allah’s mercy seep into your brain cells as you sleep. When the Qur’an resonates, angels come, devils flee, and anxiety disappears. May Allah make every second of our sleep an act of worship that mends the soul
