1. Preface

In physics, time is the fourth dimension; everything material is bound by space and time. Yet have you ever reflected on why Allah the All-Powerful—who only needs to say _“Kun Fayakun”_—chose to create the heavens and the earth in six periods? Scientifically and spiritually, this is a message about System and Harmony. Allah is not bound by time, yet He created a system that runs upon time so that we, as humans, understand that true growth requires patience. A tranquil soul is one that can sync with Allah’s decree of time, without feeling anxious or rushed. This principle of creation is affirmed by Allah in the Qur’an:

اِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ فِيْ سِتَّةِ اَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوٰى عَلَى الْعَرْشِۗ

“Indeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six periods, then established Himself above the Throne.” (QS. Al-A'raf: 54)

Whereas for Him, creating anything is absolutely instantaneous:

اِنَّمَآ اَمْرُهٗٓ اِذَآ اَرَادَ شَيْـًٔا اَنْ يَّقُوْلَ لَهٗ كُنْ فَيَكُوْنُ

“His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.” (QS. Yasin: 82)

2. Explanation

Do not rush in pursuing ambition. If the Creator of the Universe Himself set “six periods” for His creation, why do we humans want everything to happen overnight? Instant success is often fragile, but what is formed through time will have strong roots. Imagine a mother awaiting her baby’s birth for nine months. In each month, Allah forms nerves, bones, and spirit with utmost gentleness. If the baby is forced to be born prematurely, it will suffer. The pain and waiting we experience now is Allah’s way of ensuring we are “born” as a complete person when the time arrives. This process is like making yogurt; after mixing milk and starter, microbiology needs time to ferment. If you keep opening the container out of impatience, the yogurt will fail. Such is life; you’ve done your part, now let “Allah’s System” work. We can be funny sometimes; we want prayers answered as fast as food delivery on an app. We’ve just said “Aamiin,” and we’re already checking the “door of heaven” while complaining that help hasn’t arrived. We forget that Allah is the Lord of the Worlds, not the customer service of a fast-food restaurant. Allah gives what we need according to His schedule, not according to our desires that are often “greedy-eyed.”

3. Lessons and Message

The fundamental lesson for us is that time is not an obstacle, but a tool of education from Allah for the human soul.

The moral message: honor the process and enjoy each stage of growth. “Be” is Allah’s prerogative, but “striving and being patient through time” is our noble task as humans. Don’t let the desire for instant results damage the quality of our faith and mentality. True maturity can only be reached through perseverance in tune with the rhythm of destiny.

4. Conclusion

Beloved brothers and sisters, Allah created time not to limit Himself, but to educate us. Everything has its measure, its period, and its limit. If your prayer hasn’t been answered yet or your effort hasn’t shown results, do not think ill of Him. Allah is not weary; Allah is arranging the harmony of the universe to give you the best at the most precise time. Keep striving and let time bear witness to your sincerity.
