1. Preface

Often our souls feel anxious about the future, then get trapped in predictions and unseen whispers. Psychologically and spiritually, dependence on divination only creates a prison of anxiety. Yet the Qur’an comes with a theologically “scientific” explanation that the heavens have an extremely strict defense system. The phenomenon of meteors or shooting stars is not merely an astronomical event, but a symbol of the safeguarding of Divine information. Allah closes access for any creature to peek at destiny so that humans place their hope solely in the Owner of Destiny, not in intermediaries as weak as we are.Allah SWT affirms that there are fatal consequences for any creature that tries to steal the secrets of the heavens:

اِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ الْخَطْفَةَ فَاَتْبَعَهٗ شِهَابٌ ثَاقِبٌ

“Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing.” (QS. As-Saffat: 10)

Only Allah is the sole holder of the secrets of the future:

عٰلِمُ الْغَيْبِ فَلَا يُظْهِرُ عَلٰى غَيْبِهٖٓ اَحَدًا

“[He is] Knower of the unseen, and He does not disclose His [knowledge of the] unseen to anyone.” (QS. Al-Jin: 26)

2. Explanation

The greatest moral message from this topic is intellectual freedom and Tawheed. Do not surrender the dignity of your mind to fortune-tellers or zodiacs. If jinn themselves scatter in panic, chased by heavenly fire when trying to steal information, why would you still seek life guidance from them? Remember the story of the death of Prophet Sulaiman AS; he passed away standing, leaning on his staff, yet the jinn working before him did not know he had died for months until termites ate through the staff. Allah immortalized this story to show how the jinn, deemed powerful, are actually utterly “ignorant” concerning the unseen. They continued toiling in hardship, thinking Sulaiman was still watching, when he was already gone.Imagine your destiny guarded like the headquarters of a giant corporation with top-tier cybersecurity. Every time hackers (devils) try to break in, the automatic defense system launches a “firewall” (meteor) that destroys them. Don’t trust street “hackers” who claim to have leaks from headquarters; they’re just guessing in the dark. Funny thing is, many people go to fortune-tellers to ask about their fate. Someone knocks on a fortune-teller’s door, and the fortune-teller asks, “Who’s outside?” The guest immediately goes home thinking: he claims to be powerful, yet he doesn’t even know who’s knocking! Many people claim to know your fate next year, when they themselves don’t know if they’ll have a stomachache five minutes from now.

3. Lessons and Message

The fundamental lesson for us is that the future is Allah’s exclusive domain.

The moral message: live with full confidence under Allah’s protection without fearing the shadows of myths. Whoever goes to a soothsayer or fortune-teller and believes him has in fact endangered the integrity of his faith in what was revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. True inner peace is found by improving today’s deeds, not by peeking through tomorrow’s window that remains tightly shut.

4. Conclusion

My friends, the meteors streaking across the night sky are a reminder that Allah’s revelation is protected and your future is a sacred secret between you and the Creator. Don’t let myths corrupt your creed. Focus on improving your deeds now, and Allah will beautify your reality tomorrow. Return to the light of Tawheed, for therein lies a freedom of the soul that no prediction will ever give.
