1. Opening

In the world of mechanics, every machine has a wear limit. The human body is the same; it is a biological system that operates based on the laws of thermodynamics and biochemistry. Scientifically, every cell in our body undergoes constant regeneration. Yet the quality of new cells depends heavily on the input we provide. The Sharia gives a precise “machine maintenance” protocol: Fasting gives the digestive system a break to perform autophagy [the cleaning of damaged cells], while the movements of prayer ensure the distribution of synovial fluid in the joints and smooth blood flow to the brain. Following Allah’s rules is not just about reward—it’s about keeping our “biological machine” from early degradation.

Allah Ta‘ālā warns us not to destroy ourselves:

وَلَا تُلْقُوا بِأَيْدِيكُمْ إِلَى التَّهْلُكَةِ

“And do not throw yourselves with your own hands into destruction.” (QS. Al-Baqarah: 195)

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ also said about our responsibility toward the body: إِنَّ لِجَسَدِكَ عَلَيْكَ حَقًّا

“Indeed, your body has a right over you.” (HR. Bukhārī)

2. Lessons and Message

Remember that the body you use today is not your personal property; it is a “company car” loaned by Allah to complete your mission in this world. One day, the Owner will inspect its condition. Will you return it well-maintained out of gratitude, or wrecked because of desires? Don’t take pride in the freedom to consume anything, because every “adulterated fuel” you put into your body will leave residue in your heart and damage in your physique.

There was a man who, during his youth, neglected his health for worldly ambition, until he finally fell gravely ill in his golden years. As he lay weak, he saw his grandchild run to hug him, but he couldn’t lift his arm even slightly. He wept and whispered, “I used to think I had plenty of time to take care of myself later. Now, when I desperately want to hold my grandchild to show my love, this body has broken down and betrayed me.” His tears were the regret of a driver who neglected his company car until it could no longer reach the destination he loved.

Your body is a “Company Car” from Allah. Its fuel is food that is halal and tayyib. Its routine service [oil change and residue cleaning] is fasting. Its daily tune-up is the five daily prayers to realign the navigation of soul and body. If you insist on filling it with adulterated fuel [haram/doubtful food] and ignore the service schedule, don’t be surprised if the car stalls in the middle of the road. Sickness is actually just the “Check Engine” light on your life’s dashboard, telling you that you have violated the manual from the Manufacturer.[pure]

There’s a person who loves to overeat, stay up late, and rarely moves, but loves to complain, “Ugh, why do I always have headaches and body aches? Am I under a spell?” His friend replied, “That’s not a spell, Bro! That’s called the ‘fried-food curse’ and the ‘staying-up-late hex.’ You ask for prayers for health but feed your body ‘poison’ every day—it’s like asking for a fast car but filling the tank with meatball soup. Even the angels are confused how to help!” The wisdom: Don’t blame destiny for illnesses we invite ourselves through a reckless lifestyle

.3. Conclusion and Closing

Let us treat this body with full respect as a trust. Follow Allah’s manual so this “company car” stays in prime condition. Pray to refresh the system, fast to clean the engine, and eat what is halal so its energy is blessed. May it be that when we must return this “vehicle” to its Owner, we return it in the best condition.
