Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim

1. Opening

Biologically, humans are the most complex entity in the known universe. While a mosquito has about 100,000 neurons, the human brain has 86 billion neurons with trillions of synaptic connections that allow us to imagine, love, and seek God. This complexity is not without reason; in systems science, the higher the entropy and complexity of a machine, the more energy and “governing algorithms” it needs to avoid collapse. The complexity of your emotions and thoughts is not a burden—it is proof that you were designed for a purpose far greater than just eating and reproducing.

Allah SWT affirms that humans were not created carelessly, but with guided nobility:

أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ

“Did you then think that We created you without purpose, and that you would not be returned to Us?” (QS. Al-Mu’minūn: 115)

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ also reminded us how precious the value of a believer is in the sight of his Creator:

لَزَوَالُ الدُّنْيَا أَهْوَنُ عَلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ قَتْلِ رَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ

“The destruction of the entire world is lighter to Allah than the unlawful killing of a single Muslim.” (HR. Tirmidhī & An-Nasā’ī)

2. Lessons and Message

Your worth is defined by Who guides you. If you feel the rules of religion are heavy, look at it from a different angle: Allah gave you thousands of rules because you are an “exclusive product” of immense value. The higher the value of a piece of technology, the more detailed its maintenance manual. Don’t degrade yourself by living without rules, because only cheap goods can be used however anyone pleases.

There was a man who felt his life was useless and wanted to give up. One day he saw a master craftsman repairing the tiny movement of a luxury watch under a microscope. The man asked, “Why go through so much trouble for a part that small?” The craftsman replied, “This one tiny screw determines the accuracy of the whole watch. If it were worthless, I wouldn’t spend hours putting it back in its place.” The man wept, realizing that the Sharia is Allah’s way of “reinstalling” the broken little parts of his soul so he could be valuable again. Compare the latest iPhone to an old Nokia from the 2000s. The old Nokia might only need charging once a week and could survive being dropped. But an iPhone? The care rules are strict: don’t get it wet, don’t use fake chargers, keep the OS updated. Why? Because its features are advanced! Mosquitoes aren’t given Sharia because they aren’t complex. You were given the Qur’an and Sunnah because you are the “iPhone” of the universe—a masterpiece that needs extra care so it doesn’t crash mid-operation. We often complain, “Why does Islam have so many rules? Pray, cover your awrah, pay zakat!” Imagine if you were a mosquito. No prayers, no fasting. But your life lasts one week, your job is to hunt blood, and if a human spots you—_clap!_—your story ends with one slap. Want that? Of course not. So it’s better to be a human who’s “complicated” with many rules but has a future that reaches Paradise, than to be a mosquito that’s rule-free but ends up on someone’s palm!

3. Conclusion and Closing

My blessed brothers and sisters, Allah’s rules are proof that you are recognized as a noble creature. Don’t complain about the “User Manual” [the Qur’an] and the “Maintenance Guide” [the Hadith], for therein lies the secret to keeping your shine from being dulled by the dust of sin. You are immensely valuable—so live by the rules of the Creator.
