Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim
1. Opening
Did you know that while you’re busy scrolling on your phone, there are 37.2 trillion cells in your body working in perfect unison? Your heart beats 100,000 times a day, pumping blood through vessels that, if laid end to end, could wrap around the earth twice. Your brain, with 86 billion neurons, processes information faster than any supercomputer. Amazingly, all of this happens automatically. You don’t need to set an alarm to keep your heart beating while you sleep. There is a “Supreme Intelligence” operating this ultra-complex system to keep you alive. If your body is this perfect, could your life really have been created without a purpose?
Allah SWT invites us to reflect on the ultra-sophisticated technology within ourselves:
وَفِيٓ أَنفُسِكُم أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ
“And in yourselves. Then will you not see?” (QS. Adh-Dhāriyāt: 21)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ also reminded us that every joint that moves is a blessing we are accountable for:
يُصْبِحُ عَلَى كُلِّ سُلَامَى مِنْ أَحَدِكُمْ صَدَقَةٌ
“Every joint of each person among you has a charity due upon it each day.” (HR. Muslim)
2. Lessons and Message
Your body is a trust, not fully yours to own. If the Creator has already provided the “facilities” of your heart and cells to run automatically and for free, then our duty is to use the work of that heart and brain for things that please Him. It is a great betrayal if the very cells that Allah moves with such mercy are used by us to walk toward sin or to plot evil.
There was an 80-year-old grandfather who had to undergo heart surgery. After it succeeded, the doctor gave him a very expensive medical bill. The grandfather wept. The doctor said, “Don’t worry, we can discuss a payment plan.” The grandfather replied, “I’m not crying because of this money. I’m crying because Allah has been pumping my heart for 80 years for free, and I have never once truly thanked Him.” We often forget that each breath is a debt of gratitude we can never fully repay. A Boeing 787 has a manual thousands of pages long. No sane pilot flies using only “feelings.” Human life is far more complex than a Boeing machine. If flying a plane requires strict rules to avoid crashing, how can we dare to navigate life without opening the Qur’an as our guidebook? Walking without Allah’s guidance isn’t being “independent”—it’s inviting disaster. We often act like we know it all. We get confused assembling furniture from a store if we can’t find the instruction sheet, yet here we are trying to assemble our future using “guesswork.”
Remember, when your phone breaks, you take it to the official service center. If your soul “hangs” or your emotions “error,” don’t take it to a shaman or escape into food. Bring it to its Creator through the prayer mat. Because only the Factory has the original spare parts for true peace!
3. Conclusion and Closing
My brothers and sisters, 37.2 trillion cells in your body submit obediently to Allah’s command. So it is strange if we, who possess intellect, are the only part that rebels. Let the complexity of your body’s miracle be the reason for your deepest submission. We are the most advanced machine, and the Qur’an is its mandatory manual. Without it, we are nothing but walking scrap
